Résumé
We celebrate the incredible achievements of the international deaf community, and explore how people define themselves. Ahmed Mudawi is joined by Vilma Jackson to explore her multicultural upbringing and celebrate the achievements of the international deaf community. Born in Mozambique, Vilma moved to a mixed deaf and hearing boarding school in Portugal before finally settling in the UK. They also follow the journey of Pauline, an expat from Poland who moved to the UK with hopes of becoming a skydiver. Two members of the deaf Asian community share their experiences and identities, while we uncover the remarkable achievements of Lithuanian-born Caroline, a deafblind adventurer taking on extreme challenges before she loses her sight.
