Résumé

Mark Greene vient d'apprendre que sa mère, sénile, est tombée dans les escaliers et que sa femme demande le divorce. A l'hôpital, il s'occupe d'une femme enceinte, Jody, chez qui il diagnostique des troubles intestinaux. Rappelé d'urgence auprès d'elle, il ne parvient qu'à sauver la vie de l'enfant...
